NOTE. Due to the sudden announcement of parliamentary elections in Italy on 13th April, the open organising committee of the European Humanist Forum has decided to postpone the Forum, which will be held in Milan, Italy, to OCTOBER 2008. The immediate presence of national elections would have party-politicized the issues and this goes against the idea of the Forum which is a broad stage where all different actors who seek a HUMANIZATION of the society and their own PERSONAL lives as well, come together seeking CONVERGENCE instead of useless posing and arguing for the sake of seeming more clever than others. Party politics has its place, but here there is a broader idea of convergence rather of PEOPLE and SOCIAL movements in the direction of NON-VIOLENCE and putting HUMANITY as the central value instead of ideological power-play. Therefore this moment does not serve the interest of the Forum and we don’t want to risk wasting all the effort that already has been done for the preparation of the Forum.
